Meet Central Europe (MCE), which came about as a result of the collaboration between four EUATC members from Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia and with the support of the EUATC itself, has extended the culture to embrace other language industry groups and organisations.
MCE, which this year takes place in Prague, October 10/11, has brought on board EUATC member Qualitäts-Sprachendienste Deutschlands (QSD) to represent the region’s spotlight country.
The conference is also being supported by the European Commission’s DGT, which is backing a Jobs Fair taking place on the first day of the event. Meanwhile, tekom Europe has decided to organise its first event in the Czech Republic in the MCE conference venue the day before the main conference.
Other organisations collaborating with MCE include GALA, who are sponsoriong for the second year running, Nordic Translation Industry Forum (NTIF), Austrian chamber of Commerce WKO, Ukrainian Translation Industry Camp (UTIC) and MCE’s founding partners the Translation, Terminology and Technology (TTT) conference.
Commenting Radka Vegrichtová, board member of MCE’s organising committee and President of the Association of Czech Translation Agencies said: “I am so proud that our event has acted as a magnetic for so many other important organisations. Last year’s inaugural event in Budapest attracted nearly 280 delegates and we are confident that number will be greatly exceeded – especially as we have such a compelling programme, along with four master classes and a social programme to attract registrations.”
