Due to the uncertainty and the risks arising from the Coronavirus pandemic the Meet Central Europe board believes that in the current circumstances the health and safety of delegates, speakers, sponsors and their families has to be our main priority.
Trish Kovacic-Young, chair of the Austrian Association of Translation Companies, one of the four national associations that joined force to form Meeting Central Europe said: “Everyone probably saw this news coming. “We’re living through strange and uncertain times and the Meet Central Europe board has been closely monitoring the situation and has decided that in the current circumstances the health of delegates, speakers, sponsors and their families has to be our main priority.
“With this in mind we have decided that Meet Central Europe will be postponed and rescheduled to take place in Innsbruck from 13 to 15 October 2021.
“In the meantime, we’re planning to create a global community of vendor managers and deliver relevant and valuable content online. Stand by for details of these exciting online opportunities.”
Hermann Covi, Vice Chair of the Austrian Association of Translation Companies, whose company is based in Innsbruck added:
“Of course, it is positive that we can build communities and continue sharing best practice via alternative platforms, but we all hope that we will meet again in person at the next Meet Central Europe in Innsbruck in 2021.”
